Conflict & Peace
Marina McLellan - 2012
Marina traveled to Kyrgyzstan to complete an internship with the Foundation for Tolerance International, the leading peacebuilding organization in the heart of Central Asia. Marina carried out an ethnographic study to better understand the stories and experiences of local women and how they situate themselves in peacebuilding and conflict prevention efforts. Her goal was to bring women’s perspectives to the forefront of local peacebuilding initiatives. The political situation in Kyrgyzstan is still very tense and the issue of women, peace and security in relation to ethnic minority rights is considered very sensitive. For this reason we are not making Marina's report public, but will be happy to consider requests to view it.
