Intern

SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION TOURNAMENT INTERN (Part-Time, Volunteer)
The Calgary Centre for Global Community | Humainologie

About the Role
The Social Transformation Tournament Intern is a part-time, volunteer role reporting to the Director, Operations. The Intern will work closely with the Director, Operations in order to support the Social Transformation Tournament project of the CCGC. The position runs January 15 through September 30, 2019.

Key Accountabilities and Deliverables
  1. Research and develop a detailed list of social and civil organizations (and/or individual projects) whose goals and values align with those of the Tournament, for review by Tournament coordinator(s)
  2. Contact specified organizations and/or individuals articulate the goals of the Tournament and invite them to submit their project by May 30, 2019
C.    Guide and participate in the scoring of individual projects to move them towards the Tournament in September 2019.
D.    Provide logistical support and assistance for CCGC’s Social Transformation Tournament 2019 project, as requested, within the weekly allotment of hours.
 
Education, Skills & Experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • At least two years of post-secondary education
  • Interest in social transformation
  • Experience in community engagement activities
  • Understanding of the goals and values of the Tournament
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to manage a variety of simultaneous work and deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Passionate about the work of Humainologie and the CCGC
  • Event planning and research skills are an asset
This is a volunteer position, but may be eligible for a small bursary.
