The Irma Parhad Summer Research
Program
The Irma Parhad Summer Research program
supports emerging global citizens in
exploring innovative solutions to situations
that are disrupting human health and
welfare, overseas or here in
Canada. Working together
with civil-society, social service and / or
non-governmental organizations, program
participants receive funding to carry out
research that will improve our understanding
of both the issues different communities
face as well as the work they are doing to
meet their challenges head on.
Applicants are responsible for arranging
their own placements and for
verifying the
legitimacy and quality of the agency that
will host them. Please check our Resources
page for links to different organizations
that have worked with program participants
in the past. The internship or
placement must concern an issue related to
the Parhad Programmes’ and CCGC’s mandates
including but not limited to: conflict
prevention / transformation; community
building and civic participation; the link
between humanity and the environment;
factors contributing to unhealthy living
conditions and human rights and
international law.
